I am using Photoshop CS2 and have a question. I open a photo in Photoshop CS2 and I select an area of it using Select/Color Range. Now I select the channels palate and than I select create a new channel and I get Alpha 1. Ok so far so good. Now I press Control D to deselect and click on Alpha 1. Everything is black? Should it be that way? The only way that I can get a multi color Alpha 1 is to fill the selected area with a color (white). Is this how it should be or is there another way that I should be using to get the Alpha 1 channel to be more than just black? Thanks
