I’m trying to find the optimum way to select / isolate a figure on a ‘busy’ background. I’ve tried using the magic wand and similar but this seems a very fiddly way of doing it. Is there a better way? cheers

It is unusual for one technique to be successful in satisfactorily removing a background it is generally more usual to employ a number of different methods to isolate your subject. Five removal methods described in the links below.
