Is it possible to add a different type of file extension besides ".htm" and ".html" to the web gallery automation? It’s a pull down, and I need to save my files as ".php" so that the custom templates will work.

I’ve been digging around but haven’t found it so far.

You need all the pages to read PHP or just the main index page? I’m trying to understand why/how you are using PHP in combination with the Web Photo Gallery export from PS.

I need the pages generated by the web gallery to have the .php (php3 actually) extension because the web pages generated by the customized templates need that extension for the embeded php to work on my host web server.

Right now the only options are ".html"or ".htm". If I generate the pages and then rename them with the .php3 extension all the links will be broken.

hmm. that is hard. I don’t think there are any provisions for that built into the WPG exporter. What if you installed a PHP gallery app instead? Not sure how to work around this one without it becoming a nightmare.

I use an app called Gallery that is working fine for me, though I use PS a lot too.

Er yeah, I’d like to be able to use Photoshop so I can take care of editing and captions and all that in one application. It seems like an simple request. i surprised they didn’t just let the user type in their own extensions. It’s not as if php or asp or even cfm files are rare…

What if you used an app like GoLive to do a find and replace on the files? Actually I’m not sure if it will even work like that. Just an idea. I think this is a good suggestion though and you should make it know for future versions by dropping the idea to the wish-list.

In the mean time, I also use a little app called Better HTML export for iPhoto that works really well and is better suited to adding captions etc than PS. IMHO.

And I also am using Gallery which, after installed, has been very easy to use and edit captions etc. Can see an example of my gallery here:

or can download here:

anyway, good luck on this. post back if you figure a good work-around.
