Have a problem. No luck getting an answer in InDesign forums.
Using Windows 2000, InDesign CS, printing to brand new Ricoh 7200 color laser printer. Using CMYK, but same problem occurs using RGB.
Using either the color dialog box or a swatch, I apply an orange color (for example) to type and to an object (a rectangle for example). All looks fine on the screen. When I print, the box prints orange fine — so we know there is no gamut problem — but the type comes out yellow, not nearly what I selected, and WAY different from the box which has the same color applied.
This problem does NOT happen if I print from Photoshop. Type prints the color true in Photoshop.
Now… if I convert the type to "outlines" in InDesign then the type prints the right color orange and it matches the rectangle perfectly. No problem at all.
Orange is just an example. Other colors are botched as well.
Driving me crazy trying to figure out why this is happening. Tried reinstalling the program with no help. Tried putting the type on a separate layer with no help.
It is crazy that I have to convert type to outlines just to get the right color to print. I can’t edit the text once converted.
Any ideas?
