Color Depth Question

Hi all,

I’m looking into maybe upgrading my capabilities and have a question about color depth in CS2.

The graphics program I am using now will accept 16bit color depths, but to do any of the more advanced functions it requires you to change to 8bit.

Is this the same case in CS2, or can I keep the picture in 16 bit all the way through the work flow?

Thanks for the help.

Almost every function is available in 16 bit mode. I am using PS8 and have not yet encountered any need to convert to 8 bit mode.

Mark,

Not all filters are available in 16 bit, can’t think of anything else.

Thanks for the info Mike and blumesan. You helped push me closer to taking the plunge. <grin>

Guess I know where my tax refund will end up now.
