Myles,

My suggestion would be in learning the program;

* always work on a copy
* put your original files somewhere safe (like burned to a CD) and never edit these, you can always make a copy to work on
* pull down the Layers Palette from the well and leave it permanently on your workarea * pull down the Info palette from the well also, it will be frequently refered to * the programs ability to use layers is vital to its power, take a look at <http://tinyurl.com/2z4qu>
* the ability to make a good selection is a necessary skill, take a look at <http://tinyurl.com/2nkbo>
* Jay has a great site on PSE (and full PS) study at <http://arraich.com> * to understand pixels and resolution go to <http://scantips.com>

If you know how to make a selection and use layers, the info you request is easy to explain. Are you ready?

Myles,

You can edit the lines you draw with the lasso … just go to the top of the page (whilst you are in the lasso tool) and you will find some little square boxes … hover your cursor over them and you will find add, subtract etc.

If you want something really cool to do … try this one. We all had a lot of fun with it a while back.
