cannot keyboard to file type when saving as…

Just upgraded to CS2 from Photoshop 7.

In 7, when i did a save as command, I would type in the file name, tab into the file type drop down and hit "J" on my keyboard to choose jpg as my file type.

CS2 is not letting me keyboard entry in the save as dialogue box to choose a file type. it just beeps at me.

any suggestions?

just realized that it lets me do this in the OS dialogue, but not in the adobe dialogue…….

no matter, the OS dialogue is fine for me.
