Hello all,

I just upgraded my printer and server to an EFI (firey) and it is accompanied by a color profiler. I used the profiler to calibrate my monitor and am still getting a pink color instead of white. this is happening across all CS apps and I am not really having any success with the "white is yellow" fixes offered.

Im working on a G5 with a brand new NEC fe2111 monitor. the monitor’s profile was generated with the EFI profiler (across 12 users) and ALL are coming up wrong.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

thanks
Justin

does the white-n-pink print (or not)

what "profiler" did you use to profile your monitor

????

Maybe, no, surely I’m misunderstanding you. You’re not using one and the same profile for different monitors, are you?

That was the first question I thought of.

each monitor needs to have a profile made just for that monitor.

If you have 12 monitors you should have 12 individual monitor profiles.

Why do I get the feeling he’s generated a printer profile he’s trying to use as a monitor profile? Isn’t EFI Fiery a printer?

Yup. It’s a hardware RIP.

(EFI = Electronics For Imaging)

To clarify (i hope)

Each monitor has its own individual profile.
The profiler (hardware) is an Eye One (thats all it says on the box.)

and no the pink does not print.

Basically we have a profiled printer (printer profile was generated by the printer) and we’re trying to make the monitors match the prints (as best as can be achieved)

if you have pink then i’d suggest your monitor profile is screwed for a start.

IF you have a color cast in an image on the monitor, and DO NOT have a dot percentage in the file where white is, then rational deduction would state the obvious.

Justin,

You didn’t profile accurately. Your monitor profiles are bad.

On just one computer use the monitors control panel to make the monitor profile or use SuperCal <http://www.bergdesign.com/supercal/>

see if the monitors look any better.
