Color and output different from 7.0 to CS

I get different values when opening the same file in Photoshop 7.0 (on a G3 running OS 9.2) then I do in Photoshop CS (on a G5 running OS 10.2) The color settings in both applications seem to identical. Yet when I use my densitometer, the file in version 7.0 indicates values of c38 m52 y61 k17 and the file in version CS indicates values of c54 m64 y73 k49. That’s a considerable difference. The real problem is the file outputs that way too. Please help.

The color settings in both applications seem to identical.
