How do I, for example, adjust the color balance on multiple layers? I have to merge them first before I make the adjustment and I don’t want to do that.

That works, thank you. However, if I need to go back and fix just one of the layers, I’ll have to reapply the color adjustments again.

Well, it’s kinda hard for me to say without actually seeing the image and knowing what you’re trying to accomplish. But, IĀ’d probably dup just the one layer and bring it to the top of the stack and adjust the color. You can possibly change the blend mode on that layer.

Hopefully someone can be of more assistance to you.

Use an adjustment layer.

And optionally put your layers in sets, applying the adjustment to the set…

If your adjustment layer is on top of all the other image layers, you’ll see the overall effect. If you want to apply the same correction to all layers you can always save your corrections and then load them in additional adjustment layers…in this case you’ll have to develop layer masks so each adjustment layer operates only on its corresponding layer.
