I’ve got a document with 28 layers and want to extract each layer to its own document. The new docs should be the same dimensions as the original. Is this possible to automate (PS 7.0.1), or is there an option to do this already (like splitting channels, except splitting layers)?

Thanks!

CS provides a Script to do this automatically but i don’t think that 7.0.1 did.

You might be able to create an Action to do this.

Might be a reason to upgrade then. Thanks for the quick response.

Anyone else know how I might do this with an action? If I did it with an action, would all documents that I applied this to need to have the same number of layers, or the same document dimensions?

Can’t do it with an action. There’s a script for it on AdobeExchange and there’s also the LayerSplitter app. Or upgrade.
