Can’t open CS photoshop files in previous version. RAM error

When I try to send photoshop files made in the new CS to someone who is running a previous version of photoshop, (I assume v7) they cannot open the file and get an error that says something along the lines of; ‘Could not open file. Not enough RAM’

There’s plenty of ram and I saved the file with the ‘maximize compatibility’ option checked. I’ve removed folders within folders and flattened the file as much as ossible. What gives and what would be the work around until these folks upgrade?

Are they running Photoshop in Mac OS 9? Maybe they need to increase Photoshop’s memory allocation.

You need to find out if they are running Photoshop 6. If that’s the case, they need to use an earlier or a later version of Photoshop.
