I can’t seem to imitate this filter effect on an adjacent graphic (to tie it into my layout). <http://www.gballard.net/dwana1.jpg>

Any ideas on how I did it?

I recall it was when I was beginning to run filters on top of filters.

Pretty sure it is Crosshatch and something, but even Crosshatch isn’t doing it.

The test file is 72ppi (so too much resolution on the new graphic is not the issue)…

Thanks.

G,

Looks like you have a texture underpainting (selectively masked, perhaps?) along with the crosshatch… maybe even a lighting effects render on one channel to increase the relief of the texture.

You’re not the first person who’s done something cool and then forgotten how they did it. I find that the monkey on my back can be quite helpful during my many brain farts in situations much like this. He takes copious notes about everything I do.

Good luck!

Possibly "rough pastels" with "angled strokes" on top of it?

Time to fire up the old version of Photoshop you don’t use anymore.

Just another reason to keep all your photoshops on the computer.

Shep: "rough pastels" with "angled strokes"

Ya, that’s got to be it!
I’ll let you know after I get back to that task…
