The foreground and background color is violet and will not change. All the photo displayed are shades of violet.

Could you give a little more info? What image type, what was it’s source, what computer and version of PSE are you using?

First guess is to delete the prefs file , Reset Photoshop Prefs ! <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?50@@.ef4a07f>

Then , if you haven’t already done it, run the Adobe Gamma applet in the control panel to profile and calibrate your display. Hopefully, one or the other will help out , <http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7-colour/ps7_2.htm> .

Had the same problem, go to
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=4 0&platform=Windows and download the ignore exif file. It worked for me. Good luck.

Picture packages have started printing in sepia, even for black-and-white originals with gray scale checked. This seems to have come about gradually. Color images recently have been warmer than how they appeared on the monitor or in real life. At first I thought the monitor needed calibration until the sepia black-and-whites. Then I suspected the printer, but the problem does not arise with e-mailed photos.

I use a S600 Canon printer and Windows Me.

Henry, I suggest you post this as a new topic. It’ll attract more attention. I’m brain dead this morning on this subject, so I can’t help!

Henry,

Maybe you need to grab the "Ignore Exif" freebie off of the Adobe website.

I have difficulties understanding the application of the EYEDROPPER TOOL "add color""subtract color" in the HUE/SATURATION (Enhance/Adjust color). It does not seem to work. Is there a more detailed explanation of this subject? Thanks

I typed "Ignore exif" (what does that mean?)into the website’s Search. It brought up a bunch of topics, none of which appeared relevant to the problem of a sepia cast.

Henry, this is a link to the Ignore EXIF Utility for Photoshop 7.0, Windows version. I wasn’t sure which platform you’re running. This applies primarily to problems with a color shift of images from a digital camera, so I don’t know whether or not it will apply in your case.

If you run a Mac, go to Google and type in ‘EXIF Utility Adobe Mac’ and you should be given links to that download.

Have you tried deleting Preferences, as Brent suggested in one of the early posts on this thread? The only other thing I can think of is that one of the colors in your ink cartridge(s) could be gone. I get some very strange tinges in color from my printer when I’m running low. Did you check the ink supply?
