Gaussian Blur won’t work!

When I select blur > Gaussian… the blur is made immediately – the window where I can setup the blur has disappeared. What’s wrong???

Are you sure you are not selecting it from the very top of the Filters menu?

Maybe you should trash preferences.

Yes I’m sure about that.
I tried to delete preferences (~/library/preferences/com.adobe.Photoshop.plist), that didn’t help either. Was that the correct file???

Now it works!!! I delete and re-create the preferences files by launching Photoshop with Command+Option+Shift buttons held down.

What probably happened is that the blur dialog box was positioned off-screen. This comes up especially when you go from multiple monitors to fewer.
