Files not opening properly in CS in OS 10.3 ?

I’ve heard of this one before – but can’t remember the fix.

You double click a file and Photoshop opens but the only way to open the file is from within Photoshop by going file/open.

I’ve fixed permissions and fixed the drive, which is running 10.3.4 newly installed on a G4 500 dual with 750 Mb of ram.

any ideas?
