When going to the File/Acquire menu, TWAIN is not presented as an option.

The TWAIN Plugin is in the proper place. The permissions look correct. What’s wrong?

Try deleting Image Capture. You may want to put it somewhere that you can get it again but delete that and re-install TWAIN.
