Accurate Colors- use printer settings or Adobe RGB settings?

I’m creating a Before & After photo album for my dental practice.

Each ‘print’ has a before and after layers set on a background of color. The background color is my accent color for my office which is a soft lilac purple. On my monitor it appears accurate, but when printing it is much too pink.

It’s a Canon i850- Should I one day have to bite the bullet for a six ink well printer for more accurate colors? Should I have my monitor settings on the Canon driver settings or for Adobe RGB settings? Currently its set to Canon’s specifications.

I’m trying to play with the color and have found ways to manipulate it but it doesn’t seem to be very easy. I’m trying to fine a color that outputs correctly regardless of what it looks like, but that is so hit or miss. Once I do find it, can I put in all the values into the background color box and ‘presto’ it will then be accurate?

Hey, thanks, everybody
