whenever I’m renaming files using the batch "file naming" option, photoshop changes the ordering numbers of my files. First these files where renamed in batch with XP in a pc, then imported in a mac for renaming with photoshop. File #(1) is renamed 1, file #(10) is renamed 2, then files #(100) trough (109) are renamed 3 trough 12. Then file #(11) is renamed 13 and then from (110) to (119) are renamed 14 to 23!!!! and so on…..

In what order were you viewing your images in the File Browser?

Here’s an excellent QuickTime movie lesson < http://www.photoworkshop.com/registered/softwarecinema/photo shopfeatures.html> by Adobe Photoshop evangelist Julieanne Kost on the Batch renaming in Photoshop 8 (CS).

and remember, if you want proper ordering, you want your files to be numbered thus:

001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011

and so on,

otherwise they show up in th efollowing order:

1, 10, 100, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20, 200, 21, 22

and so on

has to so with the filename ordering scheme used by the OS
