Does anyone know what format digital x-rays come in? I am doing a book which I will include some digital x-ray photos will be included and need to tell the client what to save the files as so that I can open them, do any correction, and make the small enough to place in Pagemaker for Mac file. I am using Photoshop 5.5. Thank you!

Use TIFF or whatever format you normally use for your publication work.

TIFF and EPS would be preferred. But I would say that virtually any format (other than GIF or low-quality JPG or other lossy format) you find in the Photoshop drop-down menu when you go to "Save as…" would be suitable if created at appropriate resolution (nominally 300 ppi at 100% reproduction size).
