I have bought a brand new laptop (IBM Thinkpad T42P – 2gb ram, specially designed for image intensive software). I have installed a brand new version of CS2 on it. The software loads and I get the interface but as soon as I click on the menu, it freezes and the program stops responding. I have rebooted endless number of times, reinstalled the software. Same thing…

I had the same problem with an Acer Travelmate 8104 running Windows XP Pro and my work around was to do a clean install XP home and all was fine.

I have been using Photoshop since version 3 and tried every trick I know to try to get it to work. My Adobe support incident number is 171589909 and they have seen the problem before but did not know the answer.
