PS CS Will Not Recognize Camera Raw 3.1

I did a search but didn’t come across this issue.

Although Camera Raw 3.1 appears (The only camera raw listed) in the about Help -> About Plug-In drop down menu, it will not open into the correct window, the new Raw window. Each time I attempt to open a NEF file what appears is a window that displays only a exposure comp. option and no picture.

Solutions?

Reinstall PC CS?

ACR 3.1 will only work in Photoshop CS2. For CS, the end of the RAW line is 2.4. However, you can use the Digital Negative (DNG) Converter, which is free, to produce DNG files that can be opened in ACR 2.4. It’s my understanding that this is the means by which CS can access RAW formats of cameras released after ACR 2.4. (Or you can upgrade to CS2.)
