Hmm. What else can I add? I can’t choose any other font face than the last one I used (all others don’t even show up in the list, either in the palette or the menu bar dropdown). And when I finish and click the "check icon" I get an error message that "Can’t complete request because of a prgram error".

I tried purging everything — no avail.
I tried saving and closing the image — no avail.

You could add what version of Photoshop you’re using.
And what OS.
And did you try deleting preferences?
And did you try removing fonts to see if one of them is bad?

Hi Chris,

CS2. I’ve not changed my preferences since the last document I edited. I rebooted and now all the fonts are available.

I did not delete my preferences; just rebooted.

Seems to be OK now. Is this normal? I’ve never in 10 yrs experienced this kind of thing….

No, that’s not normal.
And it sounds a lot like something is corrupting memory.

Did you use a third party driver (scanner, or maybe a plugin filter) during that session before it messed up?
