Just a note to those that have, or are thinking about, upgrading to Panther/Mac OS 10.3.

There have been problems noted with using the "File Vault" option on user accounts. My PSE2 preferences were amongst the first to go! 🙁

If you already have "File Vault" in use, then don’t let it resize to save space. This option may pop up when you log out and that’s when the damage gets done.

Thanks for the warning. That file vault scares me a bit. I guess I wouldn’t put anything in there without back up on CD.

I have no plans on using File vault, but not for the reason noted by Kyle.

I can guarantee that I’d forget the password and all would be lost.

With File Vault I’m more worried about performance when opening and saving large files like Photoshop files, audio, and video. If I understand correctly, it’s all or nothing.

I mean, why would I need to encrypt my Elements Challenge directory? It’s not like it’s top secret or anything.
