OK, I do know about the View>Grid option. However, it makes the strangest sized squares I’ve ever seen – even though it’s exactly what I want. Is there a way to change the size of the grid so I could get something more useful than 4 squares to each 5/8 inch?! I’ve tried adjusting resolution, and that doesn’t change the ratio.

Or, alternately, could someone please refresh my memory on how to use lines to make a grid pattern with my own spacing? I know it can be done, but I’m having trouble figuring out the easy way. It has something to do with holding down the Shift key and inserting the starting and ending points, but I’m doing something wrong ’cause it ain’t workin’. Thank you!

Beth,

Go to Edit>Preferences>Grid… And you can set custom spacing, color and subdivisions.
