I would like to create a matte around an image. I have a specific RGB color in mind, but would like to use a pattern (woven) and apply my color to it instead of using the default blue color. How do I change the color of the pattern? thanks

If you go the save a new pattern route, when you use that pattern, you will have a problem with "tiling" – you’ll be able to see the squares of the pattern.

Instead, try this:

1. figure out where you want the pattern

2. find the pattern you want and fill the area you want patterned

3. make a gradient map adjustment layer and set the gradient to the color you want

voila!

If you aren’t patterning/coloring a whole layer, select the area that you want patterned/colored

Hope this helps, Margaret
