John, please repost with some information about the platform you’re using, the operating system, and how you access the internet. You might as well toss in some computer specs, too, while you’re at it. One of several things could be causing this, so the more we know the easier it will be to make suggestions.

A few thoughts since you are not getting any replies;
Antivirus? Could your AV program be interfering? Try a download with it disabled maybe.
Is the program registered? If not perhaps it searches your registry for the registration.

Thanks for the info but even after switching off everything using the Windows Task Manager the same happened.

Are you on a dual processor? If so, try temporarily disabling one of the processors in the bios.
