Open file with photoshop

With photoshop installed on my G4 laptop when I double click a previous mad photoshop .psd or tiff instead of opening it opens the image browser. How do I change this.

What image browser are you referring to? What OS and which version of Photoshop?

In OS X you can do Get Info and set which application you want to open particular file types.
