I guess this one is really aimed towards the forum host, policy and practice.

Here goes:
would there be any benefit to having a stick thread (one that stays near the top of the stack) specially designed for developers, new programs, plugin chat, and so forth?

The reason I ask is that Photoshop seems a wonderful platform for 3rd party stuff and it allows 3rd parties to announce their kit without having to resort (one hopes) to spamming legit threads.

NO.

Self-promotional posts are specifically banned by the forum rules that everyone signs up to when registering for the forum.

This is not a problem.

It would be better if policy makers changed the policy to allow self-promotion in ONE thread – namely third-party providers.

On the grounds of:
– Photoshop is a great platform for specific solution providers – diseminate good practice by allowing promotion without spam (ugh – awful!)

– keep a tab on things

If any policy makers are reading this would they care to contribute or, preferably act immediately
