Hi there,

I am having an issue where saving for web is taking at least 1.5 minutes just to bring up the dilaog box for saving. In previous versions, this would take just seconds. I have found this to be the case on small and large files.

I have a G5, 1Gb Ram etc. Should have no probs, tried running without other apps on and the same problem. Any suggestions?

I suppose a re-install usually does the trick with these sort of things, possibly trash prefs?

Thanks,
Ross

do you have the scratch disk on a separate drive from the system??

how much of your RAM is allocated to Photoshop??

the scratch disk is the same disk as the system and 50% of the RAM is allocated to Photoshop

thanks

With 1GB RAM you could probably give 65% to Photoshop but the biggest improvement in performance would come from installing a second internal SATA HD and making that your scratch disk.

Trashing prefs. might also help and so would Repairing Permissions. I use Cocktail which does that, and several other maintenance tasks, quickly and easily.

Ross,

Having the scratch disk on a separate drive will speed things up.
