Filter Gallery not on my new Photoshop CS. Using G5 with OS 10.3.2.

I’ve seen some messages regarding problems with using filters with CS, but I’ve not heard of the complete absence of the Filter Gallery. Its just not there (in the Filter drop down menu). I need filters & need to know whats up?

I am not launching from an alias unless I am doing it unknowingly. I will look into this further, but if you can explain how I might use an alias unwittingly, please do so. And thanks for your assistance.
