Hi,

We have had shelved away some versions of Photoshop 7 upgrades to use when our Macs were updated to OS 9 (sad but true, not all on OS X yet, mostly 8.6 here). When I went to install the upgrade on one of the Macs, the upgrader could not find the old version of Photoshop to upgrade even though it was on the hard drive. This is a version that had been upgraded to Photoshop 5 from 3 a long time ago, therefore has a 3 serial number. Has anyone else run into this? Thanks.

Also don’t you need OS 9.1 to run photoshop 7??

Lyle,

If I remember correctly, the Photoshop 7 upgrade installer asks for a serial number of version 4 or later. But you can call Adobe Customer service and, if your old version was registered, they’ll find it and give you a new serial number that will work with the installer. You don’t have to have the old version installed.
