Hello! I am using Photoshop CS2 and Image Ready. I received a PSD file from someone that I now have to save as a HTML file. It includes a form, fields and a drop-down box. How do I save this so I get a proper HTML file with the form, the fields and the drop-down box active?

you don’t. a psd is an image, like gif or jpg, and html is all text code. they’re 2 different animals.

you can save the psd as a gif or jpg and use the <img> to place that on your page or you can use image mapping to map links to places on the image, but an image is NOT html in any way shape or form.

Write the HTML code to access the image. You don’t "save the PSD as an HTML file".

The only way to save a PSD file as HTML is to "Save for Web" and choose the correct drop down from the "Save Optimized As" panel (the second panel to show up when saving). I usually choose save as HTML and Images as this creates a folder for the images. This option may only work with sliced images, although I’m not sure on that since I only do this with sliced images. The HTML file can then be opened in a browser or edited in a Web editing tool like Dreamweaver.

As far as the script for the form, I’m not sure about that. I’ve heard that script can be added from within Photoshop, but I’ve never done it. I usually use Dreamweaver for that.
