HELP with Illustrator file in Photoshop

When I try to open an Illustrator 9 file in Photoshop 7 in OS10, the file comes up blank. It has worked once or twice but only after I drug the file onto the PS icon multiple times. It seems like it won’t rasterize the file.

And what happens if you try to go through the file menu in Photoshop?

The same thing happens when I go through the file menu. I have talked to other users in my building and the same thing happens to them. Is it a bug?

Update to Illustrator 9.0.2 at the very least.

Save the ai file as a pdf then take it top photoshop.
