I have a jpg that when clicked upon opens to about 4 x 6 on screen. How can I resize this photo so that the maximum it will only open to is a 3" x 4" image?

Thanks,
Rachel.

To Resize it select Image: Resize: Image Size. You can type in your dimensions in this dialog box. You’ll get some distortion if you want exactly 3×4 because it won’t stay proportional. (A proportional resize would be 4×2.667 or 3×4.5.

Tim,

If you are only trying to resize for screen viewing, I would try;

Image>Resize>Image Size
have the Resample Box checked
change the unit to Percentage
type in 75 (for the %)
and then let the program do its thing

I have not tried this, but it seems like the easiest way to go and it should work.

Tim,

My earlier post assumes you are opening this in a browser, because if viewing in PSE, the display size would be dictated by the Zoom factor you have selected.
