The toolbox has disappeared from my Photoshop home page. The Window menu does not have a choice of "Hide tools" or "Show tools" as stated on page 16 of the book "Photoshop Elements" by C.Hoeschen and C.Dahl.
The Window menu has "Tools" which can be checked or unchecked without effect.

Ha! One I can answer, I hope.

Herbert, try Window -> Options. Even though the tray is on the top line, it travels with the "Options" line.

EDIT: Well, would you believe "Window -> Shortcuts"??? (rented fingers!)

Do you still have a blue bar with the sunflower design below it on the top left of your screen just under the menu bar? If you do, try double clicking on it and your toolbox should reappear.
