Hello all. Does anyone know how to set multiple redo/undo’s in Photoshop CS…I am not talking about the history palatte, but the kind that can be done by hitting command Z (mac) several times? I know how to change the setting in older PS versions, but the option is strangely missing from the general pref’s in PS CS! Please let me know if you know how this can be done. The generic setting is to haeve command Z just perform 1 undo.

Thank you soooooo very much!

As I understand this:

Preferences – General
History States 20 (default) you can change this number to allow additional command z’s.

In CS:
Cmd. Option Z does further Undoes .
Cmd. Shift Z does further Redoes.

They have a point, W00ge. The application apparently does allow you to redefine the shortcut to what you ask. What else could you want?

Here’s how I did it:

Go to Edit menu > Keyboard Shortcuts

Go to Edit and delete the key(s) for undo/redo

Now change Step Backward to Cmd + Z, and step Forward to Shift + Cmd + Z
