Thank you all for your help. I will walk through the fix you suggested Chuck for a learning experience. But, having read and read, things started to gel… I went back to the scanner and discovered an option "magazine" as source. The scanner does the job of fixing the "dots" and there are no bands of color on the second scan. It’s a steep learning curve, but with help, I will overcome!
