After closing files and terminating PSE 1.0, Windows sometimes thinks some of the files are still in use. Thus they can not be moved or deleted. Usually I have to reboot the system to clean things up.

Is there a way to clean things up without resorting to a reboot?

I’m using PSE 1.0 on WinXP but this problem also happened on my previous WinMe system.

Larry,

Just for fun, before you exit PSE, go Edit>Purge All. This will not delete any files or layers but it will purge the memory on your computer, it might work.
