I have recently installed Photoshop CS on my system, which includes

– OSX 10.3.2
– 1 GB of RAM
– The comp is a PowerPC 733mhz G4

Any ways the problem I am having is that my computer is taking FOREVER to work in a 700mb photoshop file. I am wondering if there is a way to maximize the speed you get out of Photoshop CS??? Or should I downgrade to 7.0 until Adobe gets there act together?

Allocate only 65% to 75% RAM to photoshop.

have scratch disk on second hard drive. Do not put scratch disk on same dive as system. those are the main things.

I have a G4 733 with a Gig of RAM I was working on a 1gig+ file the other day it was a little slower than the normal files I work on since it was so big. Other than that all is normal in my book.

Make sure you run your cron scripts with Cocktail ($12) and other maintenance routines to keep your machine running smoothly.
