I’m trying to create some realistic glass tube-like objects, but I can’t seem to get it right. I’ve been going by the rules set in this tutorial among others to create one, http://www.phong.com/tutorials/glass/

but the main problem i’ve run into is that if the background is clouds or something that doesn’t have a lot of definition and color variation, it really looks nothing like glass. Any ideas anybody?

What a great website!

I love this…
