I need a pointer on this.
I’m trying to understand how Mikkel Aaland is accomplishing the "Nudge" method, in his book Photoshop Elements Solutions, where he makes a selection around a telephone wire, moves the selection outline with the arrow key, then copies the area next to it, and moves that area back over the wire.
I’m missing something in this description.
I have a similar thing I would like to accomplish on an old photo. A vertical streak across someone’s face could likely be removed by this method.
So, I use the regular lasso tool, make the selection around the defect, and nudge this selection away from the defect withe arrow keys. So far, so good.
Then, I hold the Alt down, then move the selection area back, with the arrow keys.
I’ve copied nothing. I’m working on a layer of the face, and I’ve got that layer highlighted in the palette.
What am I not doing correctly, to complete this task?
Thanks.
Al
