I think my problem with the error messages 1 and 36 problems writing or reading to virtual memory is virtual memory settings
Any suggestions for a dell latitude cpx laptop win xp pro and 256mb ram.

I can’t comment on a Dell, but I had this problem on a PC with 512MB ram, with Windows XP Pro

I set the virtual memory settings to System managed size on the boot drive.

This cured the problem.
