I went to DL CS3 a few minutes ago as an upgrade from Element 3.0.
Price $549.00.
So, filled in all the usual data and then committed the CC number.
Then a 21% VAT (Irelend) was tacked on to the Total price. The "bubble" by the tax indicated that the s/w is downloaded from Ireland and so that VAT is applicable.
1) I ordered from the North American site.
2) I’m in Canada
VAT typically never applies to offshore purchasses.
I called the 1-800 number and the sales operator tried to sell me the boxed version. Added S&H (boxed version) and taxes. So I declined and also cancelled the online DL order. He stated that there were some known issues with the website without saying if this applied to the problem at hand.
When I DL’d Elements 3.0 a couple years ago there were no taxes at all.
Anyone DL CS3 and have to pay taxes of any sort?
