Whoa. I just checked out the price…$80.00. You’d have to be crazy to buy one.

Seems like a gimicky rip-off to me.

I just a MS Natual Multimedia Keyboard for $18.00. I love it.

My setup doesn’t really justify a wireless keyboard and I’ve gotten quiet used to the ergonomic split keyboard. I can’t use a standard keyboard anymore.

I can’t use a standard keyboard anymore.

That’s the only reason why I won’t try that one – I go to too many different keyboards.

I barely look at the keyboard when I use a shortcut… It has to become second nature, or you’d better use the mouse/stylus… Shortcuts are supposed to be faster.

With the alt, shift, ctrl, plus the combos, you’d need 8 different silkscreenings on almost each character…

Get Trevor Morris list of shortcuts and study them, so you won’t need a peculiar keyboard to use Photoshop efficiently… <http://user.fundy.net/morris/photoshop1.shtml>

It is a cool toy, but it might be exactly that. My keyboard is littered with Sharpie marker of a variety of colors. I use an ergonomic, but miss being able to keep my left hand to the left of the spacebar for all the shortcuts (yep, got a big hand!) I really hate to move my left hand for the curves and levels command.
My favorite mark is on the wrist area: ctrl-alt-~
Ahhh, a cheap keyboard and the thrill of "decoration!" Stacy

My very old Northgate keyboard, which I loved finally died so I had to get something else. I was looking at keyboards at Frys in Las Vegas and came across a keyboard from Ideazon, called the Zboard. I am a real sucker for something different.

You get a basic keyboard in the box with a keyset that is for Microsoft windows and Internet Explorer. You can also purchase additional keysets for various programs and games. (The gamming boards really look WIERD.) Yes, the whole set of keys come off. You can hotswap the whole keyboard at any time. I seldom take the Photoshop set off though. The feel is a little different with a somewhat firm feel. I soon got used to it.

One other thing. It is basicly sealed. It wouldn’t be a tragedy if you spilled your coffee in the keyboard. Dust/dirt don’t affect function.

I got the Photoshop keyset. It is not a must-have but I like it. The Alphanumeric keys have the additional graphics on the keys. The number pad can be set (via an extra non standard key) for various layer operations and screen controls. ie the CTRL / 0 / + /- ,Layer up/down, New layer etc.

The function keys can also be changed (via another non standard key) for the Rotate Canvas functions, canvas size Transform, Feather Imageready and others.

There are 9 buttons across the top which can be programmed to open a program, directory, URL or document.

If you are curious, go to:
<http://www.ideazon.com>
and no, I’m not in any way associated with Ideazon.

I prefer a keyboard with mechanical switches, rather than the mushy plastic membrane ones most have now. I would look through the bins at used computer stores and at computer fairs for these. I picked up one of those very old Northgate keyboards – case seems to be metal, not plastic, and it weighs a ton 🙂

However, Esc is where the tilde should be, tilde is where right Alt should be, and Ctrl and Caps Lock are interchanged. My ‘second nature’ keystrokes didn’t work anymore, and it was too confusing going between it and the ones at work and school.

I settled on a keyboard that has 24 extra keys, which can be programmed to send strings of keystrokes ( < http://www.ortek.com/productDetail.asp?ProductId=P2003070413 4249> )
Isn’t cheap, though. Maybe I’m a . . . 🙂 but I really like it.

This is interesting. I just bought a new keyboard, myself. It’s an Ortek multimedia thing, and so far I hate it. Maybe it’s just because it feels different or something. (Or maybe it’s because many newer keyboards have that freaking F Lock key [Office Lock in the case of this Ortek] which makes your Function keys inoperative unless you unlock them every freaking time you boot up). Future generations will undoubtedly move beyond the "qwerty" keyboard design, which was, of course, designed to slow us down.

My keyboard has an F Lock but it’s off by default.

And my Logitec "Elite" USB keyboard’s F-Lock does what it damn well feels like – sometimes boots on, sometimes off. PITA. Particularly if you’re trying to F8 into safe.
