I’M IN XP HOME EDITION AND SHUTTING DOWN. WHEN WINDOWS DISPLAYS THE MESSAGE THAT IT IS SHUTTING DOWN IT NEVER DOES AFTER USING ADOBE PHOTOELEMENTS. I HAVE TO SHUT DOWN MANUALLY BY HOLDING THE BUTTON FOR TEN SECONDS.

Emil,

Unless Elements didn’t shut down when you closed it, or perhaps other utilities are holding it open, I’d say there is something in the operatins system that’s causing that. Close down Elements and see that all items on your Task Bar are gone, then CONTROL ALT DELETE, then click on Applications and see what is still running. Close everything down (click it and End Task). Now see if your operating system will shut down?

I have tried this before. Nothing shows up on the applications as running but windows still will not shut down normally.
