problem opening files

have a cd that when i try and open the jpegs the message could not open because a JPEG marker segment length is too short, comes up. can anyone explain what this means and is there anything i can do to get the images back, thank you

Try copying an image to your hard drive and open it from there.

thanks but the same message about it being trunkated comes up.

You MAY be able to open it in a Browser (or maybe Irfanview) and then re-save and be able to then open it in Photoshop.

The file is corrupt, and Photoshop is very picky about data integrity. Not all applications are quite so picky.

I have just recently received this message "the browser application could not be started please verify that is is installed correctly"

Help, it takes five minutes to download one photo. What do I do?

I would try the Irfanview option mentioned above.
