Can’t figure out difference between PhotoShop and PhotoShop Elements

I can’t figure this out…if I have PhotoShop, is there a reason to also get PhotoShop Elements.

No. Elements is a "cut down" version of Photoshop with less functionality.

Unless you have Photoshop CS (V 8) there may be a good reason to get Elements (or a third party plugin).

That is the photomerge that Elements but not Photoshop 7 has. But you can copy that action over from your legal edition of Elements and use it in Photoshop 7 (possibly in V 6 as well but I didn’t try that when 6 was on the machine). CS has it built in and it seems to work better.

The PhotoMerge in CS doesn’t have file size limitation like Elements (or Elements one copied to PS 7), which will choke on files after a certain pixel size…
