Photshop Help File — Removing Fringe Pixels – Defringe / Remove Black/White Matt

I read the topic on Removing fringe pixels using the Defringe and remove white/black matt.

But I cannot work them or if they do make some modification I dont understand it.

Can someoen provide me with step by step tutorial so I can exeperice these commadns and understand them so can utilise them etc… ?

Anything more that a pixel usually doesn’t look too great after chopping. Sometimes, you can select the edge colour with a selection and just desaturate it and have it blend.

That covers defringe, what about remove WHITE/BLACK matt.

you have to make a selection. open an image that is black and white. select something in the image. then move that selection. you will notice that some of the color from behind it moved with it. for example a white circle on a black backround. if you select the circle and move it or copy it to it’s own layer, there is black around the edges. the remove matte option removes that (similar to defringe)
