Hi,

Is it Photoshop CS that can’t save EXIF data properly so that WinXP can read it or is it just WinXP that doesn’t support EXIF data in TIFF files?

If I open a RAW file from my Canon PowerShot Pro 1 in Photoshop CS with the Camera RAW plugin 2.2 installed, and saves the image as JPEG, WinXP shows me this: <http://home18.inet.tele.dk/madsen/winxp/exif_jpeg.png> but the same file saved as TIFF only shows this:

Tom, i’m probably not qualified to answer everything in there, but at the very least make sure you have service pack 1 and all updates installed for xp… I’ll let someone else take it from there… 🙂

Dave,

I forgot to mention, that it’s WinXP Pro SP1 I’m talking about.

I’ve also tried in SP2 RC2 and the same thing happens:

XP doesn’t appear to read EXIF data in TIFF images.

And don’t use XP to change metadata – or it can destroy your files.

Too bad. I’ve filed a bug rapport today. It probably doesn’t change anything whatsoever but at least there’s hope that MS fix it some day.

Couldn’t dream of using XP for that but thanks for the warning. 🙂
